Strong & Courageous · a Bible-rooted series

Raising boys who are brave.

Jasiri (adj.) Swahili: brave, courageous.

Stories that walk with a Kenyan boy from age 6 all the way to manhood, building identity, responsibility, honour and courage one book at a time.

Baraka, a small Kenyan boy, kicks a football while the older boys cheer
Why this exists

Our boys have been quietly left behind.

Much good and necessary work has gone into lifting up the girl child. But along the way, too many boys are growing up unsure of who they are, slow to take initiative, and quick to believe they don’t really matter. A boy does not become a good man by accident. He becomes one when someone shows him the way.

Rooted in the Bible

Every story is anchored in a Bible hero (Jeremiah, Noah, David, Daniel) and the timeless principles they lived by.

Grows with him

The same core values return at every stage, deeper each time, from a picture book at 6 to a guide for life at 20.

Made for home

Kenyan settings, read-aloud stories, talk-together questions and real missions that turn reading into doing.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

For parents, guardians and mentors

The book starts the conversation. You finish it.

Many boys are raised by single mothers, grandmothers and guardians who want to raise strong men but aren’t sure where to begin. These books are built to make that easier.

  • Read it together. One story a week is plenty. Let him look at the pictures and tell you what he sees.
  • Ask the questions. The Talk Together page turns a story into a real conversation about his own life.
  • Do the mission. Confidence comes from doing, not just reading. Colour the star chart together.
  • Speak blessing over him. Boys grow into the words spoken over them.
Free to read. Fuelled by coffee.
